In everyday terms, a torus is a hollow ring and it's this shape that allows our hydration systems to store water in the walls and dispense it as your pet drinks.

Torus is a unique hydration system with lock, flow, and fill functions. Water is stored in the reservoir walls and released into the drinking well as your pet drinks filtered on the way through. No power, no batteries, no cords.

Torus stores enough water for a full day. It's extremely stable and difficult to tip. It controls flow to reduce spills and mess. It locks for travel car, park, or holiday. It filters water with replaceable Cleantech filters. And it's fully cordless.

Yes. Torus is a cordless pet water dispenser with no pump, no motor and no batteries. Water is stored inside the walls of the bowl and flows into the drinking well by gravity as your pet drinks, through a replaceable carbon filter. It is completely silent and works anywhere, at home or in the car.

A fountain uses an electric pump to circulate water in an open basin, so it needs power, makes some noise and has a pump to clean. Torus has no pump and no power: water stays stored inside its walls, shielded from dust and hair, and is filtered as it flows into the drinking well.

A gravity waterer is an upturned bottle over an open basin, so it can tip and is not built for travel. Torus stores the water inside its own walls, has a weighted base that is very hard to tip, and locks shut so you can take it on walks or use it in the car.

Yes. The Torus MINI is a non-electric, filtered water dispenser for cats and toy breeds up to 6 kg (13 lb). It has no pump, so there is no motor noise to bother nervous cats, and it holds 34 oz (about 1 litre). Learn more about non-electric cat fountains.

The Torus MAXI and MINI lock shut, so you can carry them to the car without spills. Unlock when you start your journey and your pet can drink along the way with no spills.

Yes. The Torus is sealed on purpose to protect the flow mechanism, so you clean it without opening it. Every week, just like you'd wash your own water bottle: fill it with warm soapy water or vinegar, lock the cap, shake for a minute, then empty and rinse. Then use the Torus Cleaning Kit: fill with warm water, slide the tablets in through the fill opening under the cap (two tablets for the MAXI, one for the MINI), lock the cap and shake, then empty and rinse well with clean water. Use the fine brush on the water spout. Every 2 weeks, wash it on the top rack of the dishwasher; remove the filter first. Every 30 days, replace the filter. After rinsing, simply refill with fresh water; there is no need to dry the inside.

There are two options: the Standard Filter and the Advanced Cleantech Filter. Both come in packs of 6. Replace each filter every 30 days. You can subscribe to receive them automatically every 6 months Subscribe & Save saves you 20%.

Standard Filters contain certified activated carbon that removes impurities. Advanced Filters add BioSafe® antimicrobial within the filter media FDA compliant and NSF certified.

The filter basket can be recycled. The activated carbon is fully environmentally friendly and the PET capsule material is recyclable.

Yes. All Torus dispensers manufactured from January 2021 include IONPure® technology built into the plastic. It supports cleaner drinking alongside regular cleaning.

Torus dispensers are made from food-grade, BPA-free polypropylene (PP) the same material used for food storage and medical applications. All dispensers are fully recyclable, including packaging.

Yes. All Torus products and packaging are fully recyclable.

Yes. All materials are food-grade, BPA-free, and certified. Filter ingredients activated carbon and antimicrobials are naturally occurring and safe for pets. On rare occasions a pet may have an allergy to polypropylene. If so, consult your vet before use.

Once a week, just like you'd wash your own water bottle, wash it with warm soapy water or vinegar (cap locked, shake, empty and rinse), then use the Torus Cleaning Kit: fill with warm water, add the tablets through the fill opening under the cap (two for the MAXI, one for the MINI), lock the cap and shake, then empty and rinse well. Every 2 weeks, wash it on the top rack of the dishwasher with the filter removed. Replace the filter every 30 days. The dispenser is sealed, so you never need to open it.

When the cap is turned to the flow position, water fills to the top of the water outlet. This is the correct fill level.

If water fills above the outlet, the filter mechanism may be misaligned. Remove the cap, ensure the neck slots align on each side of the bowl, and reinsert.

Same fix remove the cap, check the filter mechanism alignment, and reinsert so the cap slots sit correctly on each side of the dispenser.

All dispensers come with a 12-month warranty. If yours is leaking, contact us immediately via the Contact page and we'll resolve it.

The Torus is sealed to protect the internal mechanism. Opening it could misalign the flow system. The weekly routine of a soapy water or vinegar wash plus the Cleaning Kit (cap locked, shake, rinse) keeps the inside clean without needing to open it.
